She was staying at her holiday home in Hermanus with my younger cousin, so she gave me a call and an hour and a half later I was there in Hermanus having a nice break from the usual Stellenbosch antics!

I was only in Hermanus for 2 days or so but managed to get out to take some photos on Sunday morning whilst everyone was still fast asleep… I just couldn’t miss the opportunity of getting some awesome photos, so here are they are.

It was a pretty cold morning and the town was covered in a blanket of mist which made me want to bring out my camera! So I thought I better head out and try take some photos before the mist disappears!

I ended up stopping at Stark-Conde Nektar Farm and I managed to get a couple nice shots. Take a look at the photos below…

Pretty damn stupid don’t you think… because Stellenbosch is so beautiful! So yesterday I decided to go out and get going.  I headed to Lazerac and took a few quick shots just to get rid of my guilt and get me going again.

Nothing that special just yet but I just needed to recover from my almost 2 year procrastination!

Whilst I was there I took some really awesome photographs, but out of all of them, the photo below is by far my favourite! I’m actually going to get it printed on a large stretched canvas!

That was actually the first time I had ever seen a white lion before… and I can tell you they are so incredible! You don’t actually realise how enormous they really are, until you see them close up! Damn I love living in Africa!

But whilst I was out there I decided to take some short video clips using my small point and shoot digital camera… the quality isn’t amazing but there is only so much you can do with one of those cameras! No I lie! One of the clips in the video was created using my DSLR….

Nonetheless I created a video compilation using some of the clips, added some awesome music and… well… here it is! Have a watch and enjoy some of the Karoo and South Africa!

For those who have never experienced an African sunset or sunrise; you haven’t yet lived because they are simply mind blowing. Photographs don’t do them any justice… you simply need to experience one to really appreciate the beauty!

Nonetheless, here are a couple sunset and sunrise shots I took whilst in the Karoo.

Africa is one of a kind!

Pretty awesome don’t you think! But as I have already mentioned… pictures don’t do justice to how incredible an African sunrise or sunset really is!
